Dalton Park Phase 2, County Durham

A new masterplan has been submitted for Outline Planning in January 2010. The proposal is the next phase of the development at Dalton Park and is an expansion of the existing retail destination, which will continue the development of Dalton Park.  The proposal comprises the following elements: A cinema, supermarket, hotel and pub, Food and drink units, Petrol filling station.

Additionally, car parking on the site will be remodelled, and the existing pedestrian accesses into the adjoining community would be retained and enhanced to provide easy access to Murton.

Masterplan and bid submission for the Parkridge Developments / Wimpey Homes consortium.  The masterplan, for a 22 hectare site, includes a mixed use development of office, residential, retail, leisure and university accommodation.

A concept masterplan for a major residential project to the north of Newcastle City centre which represented our first sojourn into PPG3 housing and marked the beginning of a healthy portfolio of speculative housing developments for a range of major house building clients.

Central Park, Darlington

Napper Architects have been responsible for the detailed masterplan of this new mixed use development in central Darlington, on a 75 acre site. The scheme will be developed by Commercial Estates Group (CEG), Keepmoat and Yuill Homes. The consortium and their design team led by Napper were successful in winning the bid for the site ahead of three other rival consortia. With an overall investment of £200 million the park will include 600 homes (Including ECO houses), 28,000m² of commercial space including shops, bars and restaurants, a quality hotel with health and fitness centre and the creation of a new urban wildlife habitat set within 25 acres of open public space

Hebburn, South Tyneside

As lead design consultants Napper Architects were responsible for the masterplan and detailed design proposals for the 20 acre (8 ha) town centre site in Hebburn, South Tyneside. The consortium led by Tesco has been chosen as the preferred bidder for the £40m reshaping of a Tyneside town centre. The new development will include a 4000 sq m Tesco supermarket on stilts, 200 new homes for Gentoo and Bellway, including 50 affordable units. In addition it will include community facilities with a new library and a customer service centre, a conference or gallery facility and a café. In addition it will comprise of new units for smaller businesses, parking for shoppers and workers, a pedestrian route linking the shops to the houses and a sustainable landscape strategy that ties the two elements together.

Stella South, Gateshead

The master planning of this 16 hectare area, on the south side of the river Tyne, was the first stage in the regeneration of the brownfield site of the former Stella South Power Station.  This new 500 home housing development breathes new life back into an otherwise neglected and historically important area.

The scheme whilst being responsive to existing site constraints, maximises development potential taking on board the latest best practice guidance documentation and  'By Design' principles.
